Getting to Bicon

Road

Leeds has good motorway links to the M1, M62 and M621.

Approaches to Leeds City Centre:

  • North: A1-A58
  • East: M62 to J29 then M621 to J3
  • South/South East: M1 to J43 then M621 to J3
  • West: A65 via Kirkstall
  • North-west: A60 via Headingley

If you are using a SatNav please use the postcode LS16 5LF (Churchwood Avenue) to direct you to Headingley Campus. Parking is available onsite.

It can be a little confusing to find the entrance to the campus when travelling by car, From Otley road you turn down Churchwood avenue which slopes upwards and at the end of the road you will find the security entrance to the campus.  The turning for Churchwood avenue is next to a BP garage.

Rail

Headingley Campus is a 20 minute walk across Beckett Park from Headingley train station (Exit on the allotment side, follow the footpath, then take Queenswood Road, which leads to the park). Please note that Headingley station is a small unstaffed station, and does not have step-free access to the platforms.

Leeds mainline station is about 3 miles away from Headingley campus, with a taxi rank and connecting buses available.

Bus

Bus service 69 has an hourly service running directly onto Headingley Campus Monday-Saturday. Many other services stop on Otley Road/Churchwood Avenue, a few minutes walk away. For timetables see: www.wymetro.com

Bus routes 1, 6, 97 and 874 also stop at the bus stop outside campus, it is then just a short walk up the hill to the campus entrance.

Cycling & Walking

Leeds Beckett campuses are connected by advisory, signposted cycle routes. There is plenty of cycle parking on campus and some buildings have showers and lockers.

Air

Leeds Bradford International Airport is a 15 minute taxi drive from Headingley Campus.
